Zero-VND shop offers plant exchange program for free in Ho Chi Minh City
A shop in Ho Chi Minh City has run a program in which people come to exchange seedlings and cuttings from their home gardens at a price of zero Vietnamese dong with an aim of greening the urban environment.
Joining the program, plant enthusiasts would be enjoying activities at the shop in District 4 such as preparing and exchanging self-planted trees for free.
Other activities at the shop include saving trees abandoned on the streets and at landfills, which the program’s members later bring home to prune and fertilize for the sake of the success of the plant-exchanging idea.
After a day joining the program with her mother, Diep Le Nhung, a native of Tan Phu District, considers the program as a meaningful and open activity to people coming from all paths of life as long as they share the passion for nature.
People also seek experience in taking care of plants from other members and find this place as weekend gateways where they spend time hanging out and making new friends after hectic days of work.
