With the theme, "Best of Three 2018-2020", the exhibition presents a selection of the most important stories over the last three years from the World Press Photo contest, featuring various topics such as sports, nature, wildlife, environmental protection and politics. Some of the 158 pictures on display were selected by Consul General of the Netherlands in HCMC Carel Richter.

“I am proud to host the World Press Photo exhibition in HCMC with full support from the local government leadership. It underlines the good spirit and cooperation between the Netherlands and HCMC. These World Press Photo pictures facilitate discussions about important topics such as human rights and climate change,” Richter said at the opening ceremony.

The annual World Press Photo contest awards photographers from all over the world for their significant images, which represent the past year of photojournalism. It is the world’s leading contest for professional press photographers, photojournalists and documentary photographers. In the last three years, the contest received some 75,000 entries each year from at least 125 countries.

“We are very excited to showcase the Best of Three exhibition in HCMC. The purpose of the World Press Photo exhibitions is to make people stop, feel, think, act and engage with a worldwide audience. We hope all visitors enjoy these visual stories: the stories that matter,” Suzan van den Berg, Exhibitions Coordinator for World Press Photo, shared.

The World Press Photo Exhibition: "Best of Three 2018-2020" is open for free until April 16 at Le Van Tam Park on Hai Ba Trung Street.
