Awards were voted by readers of CNTraveler in the categories of Favorite Country, Best City, Best Resort and Best Resort Island.
CNTraveler says that the names in the 33rd Readers’ Choice Awards 2020 are the ones that brought visitors comfort, that they still connected with long afterwards, and that got visitors through the months without travel. These are the enduring gems that can withstand the test of time and the vicissitudes of circumstances.
Ba Na Hills has become a famous tourist destination attracting thousands to a vast entertainment complex in an European setting.
There are four ASEAN countries in the list of the world’s 20 favourite countries in 2020 of CNTraveler. Along with Vietnam, the remaining three ASEAN countries are Indonesia (ranked sixth with 92.98 points), Thailand (seventh with 92.62 points), and Malaysia (15th with 90.86 points).
Although the “boot-shaped” country is one of the countries heavily influenced by Covid-19, it still enjoys the affection of travellers. Italy topped the list with 94.05 points.

Following Italy, Sri Lanka was honoured with 93.96 points, Portugal with 93.39 points and Japan with 93.35 points.
Ranking 20th in the list of the world’s 20 favourite countries in 2020 of CNTraveler is India.
Last month, in publications in the US and UK, CNTraveler repeatedly put Vietnam on the list of new destinations to visit after the Covid-19 pandemic ends and 2021. CNTraveler explained that this vote was because Vietnam has well controlled the Covid-19 pandemic.
Previously, CNTraveler (published in the UK) also selected the Vietnam’s Thong Nhat (Reunification) Express, also called the North-South railway route, to the list of the ten most beautiful railway lines in the world, selected from the book “Around the world in 80 trains” by author Monisha Rajesh.
