Travel+Leisure magazine recently named Vietnam as one of the top 12 affordable yet amazing honeymoon destinations worldwide.

Specifically, Hanoi offers a delightful blend of culinary and cultural exploration, coupled with a vibrant city atmosphere. Travel+Leisure recommends the luxurious Sofitel Legend Metropole, situated amidst lush greenery in the heart of the capital.

In addition, IHG Hotels & Resorts provide an elegant setting for marriage proposals, pre-wedding photo shoots, and wedding receptions.

“Standing proud as the only over-water luxury hotel in Vietnam’s capital, InterContinental Hanoi Westlake is a stalwart in the wedding scene, having hosted many of the country’s most spectacular celebrations,” says Travel+Leisure.

According to the travel website, international tourists can have a fancy wedding ceremony on the idyllic shores of Phu Quoc or a grand city wedding in a stylish Saigon ballroom during Vietnam’s traditional wedding seasons in autumn and spring (from October to March).

Traditionally, Vietnamese weddings took place in the couple’s hometown, but recently, destination weddings have gained popularity. Idyllic islands like Phu Quoc and coastal resorts such as Da Nang have become sought-after wedding locations.

Phu Quoc, in particular, has attracted many affluent Indian couples who opt for stunning sunsets on Pearl Island and romantic beach weddings on the seaside lawn. IHG’s Area Director for Sales and Marketing for Northern Vietnam, David Pearson, pointed out that this trend has resulted in more intimate ceremonies and hotels needing to provide a more comprehensive experience.

Couples today also seek venues with iconic backdrops that are Instagram-worthy, as they want to capture their special moments for their social media platforms. In line with this, IHG offers picturesque settings.

For couples who enjoy hiking, Travel+Leisure suggests visiting the Valley of Love in Da Lat or the scenic views of Mt. Fansipan in Sapa.

In the United States, couples typically spend an average of $5,000 on their honeymoon. Besides Vietnam, Travel+Leisure lists other romantic destinations such as Belize, Key Largo (Florida, USA), Napa and Sonoma (California, USA), Bermuda, Jamaica, Mexico, Honolulu (Hawaii, USA), Costa Rica, Portugal, and Niagara-on-the-Lake (Ontario, Canada).
