The city has announced plans to extend the popular open-top double-decker bus tour with an additional 4 buses, operating until the end of 2025. The expanded tour will now cover District 5, District 6, and Thu Duc City, offering a unique perspective of Ho Chi Minh City’s vibrant nightlife and tourism hotspots.

This pilot expansion is expected to boost the city’s night-time economy and showcase its diverse attractions to visitors.

Currently, two companies, Anh Viet Hop On Hop Off Vietnam and Vietnamtourism-Hanoi JSC, are collaborating to offer this distinctive double-decker tour experience in Vietnam’s southern hub.

Anh Viet Hop On Hop Off Vietnam has been successfully operating their open-top bus route since January 2020, providing daily trips from 9:00 am to 11:00 pm. Their 12.7-kilometer route, known as DL01, has already served over 191,680 passengers as of the first quarter of this year.

Vietnamtourism-Hanoi JSC manages the DL01 route, which commenced in August 2022. Their buses traverse a 13.8-kilometer path, welcoming passengers from 9:00 am to 5:30 pm daily. By the end of the first quarter, they had transported an impressive 125,200 passengers.

These strategically designed routes connect popular tourist destinations and historical sites, offering a comprehensive city experience.

Recognizing the potential for growth, both service providers have proposed the addition of two new open-top double-decker bus routes. Anh Viet Hop On Hop Off Vietnam plans to introduce a route with 30 daily trips, while their counterpart aims to provide a service with 15 daily departures, collectively aiming to enhance the city’s tourism offerings and accessibility.
