The Tran Thi Ly Bridge and the Dao Xanh villa area in Hai Chau District, Da Nang, offer a prime vantage point from which to witness the gathering of storks.
Some storks wade in the shallow water, while others perch on nearby trees or flutter from branch to branch.

Le Huu Hung, a resident of Hai Chau District, noticed the regular presence of storks in the area as he often exercises there.
“It’s quite remarkable. Amidst the bustling city streets, there are hundreds of storks calmly searching for food, perching on tree branches,” remarked Hung.
“It feels as tranquil as the countryside.”

Local residents have observed that the area where the storks gather is abundant in natural vegetation such as mangrove apples and mangroves, creating a floating mound along the Han River that has gradually become a habitat for storks in recent years.
The People’s Committee of Hai Chau District reported that on Friday, district leaders, along with representatives from the Department of Construction and Department of Natural Resources and Environment of Da Nang, as well as environmental experts from the University of Da Nang, surveyed the mangrove area along the river.

During the survey, the team also encountered hundreds of storks leisurely foraging in the area.
“It’s truly fascinating. We are seeking expert assistance to initiate a project aimed at preserving and conserving the biodiversity ecosystem along the Han River,” said Le Tu Gia Thanh, chairman of the People’s Committee of Hai Chau District.
