During the opening ceremony, Tran Chi Cuong, vice chairman of the Da Nang City People’s Committee, stated that Da Nang has established cooperative ties with 20 Japanese localities in various fields such as urban development, environmental protection, energy saving, economy, tourism, education, health care, human resources, culture, and people-to-people exchanges.
Cuong also mentioned that this is the second time the Kanagawa Festival has been held in Da Nang, which serves as a solid foundation for strengthening friendship, promoting cultural exchanges, and enhancing mutual understanding between the Vietnamese and Japanese peoples.
Yakabe Yoshinori, consul general of Japan in Da Nang, highlighted that Vietnam is an attractive investment destination for Japanese companies. He expressed his expectation that Japanese investment in the central city will continue to increase due to its abundant human resources and affordable rental prices in comparison to Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.
Yoshinori also emphasized that the Kanagawa Festival 2023 aims to enhance mutual understanding between Vietnamese and Japanese students, who are expected to contribute as valuable human resources for both countries in the future.
The event will feature a speaking contest for university students, a competition to learn about Kanagawa Prefecture, an online exchange program for Vietnamese students in Japan, and a seminar introducing job opportunities in Japan.
