The WCF (World Cat Federation) Coral Jubilee Cat Show, organized by the Vietnamese Cat Association, was held to honor local and international cat owners and professional cat breeders. This event follows Asia’s first cat festival that took place in Hanoi in June.

The competition aimed to promote professional cat breeding and spread love for animals, as stated by Nguyen Thi Hong Tham, a representative of the organizer.

Pham Thong Duy, a 27-year-old resident in Binh Thanh District, Ho Chi Minh City, brought his 5.5-month-old British cat to the competition. He revealed that this cat, valued at $10,000, was transported from Russia to Vietnam three days prior to the event at a cost of $1,000 for shipping.

Duy had high hopes that his cat would win a prize in the competition. He mentioned that his pet received professional grooming before the contest.

Ly Bao Tran, a 34-year-old from Nha Trang City, Khanh Hoa City in south-central Vietnam, brought her maine coon cat, which originates from the U.S., to Ho Chi Minh City to participate in the show.

The maine coon cat weighs eight kilograms and has silky white hair.
