During the press conference, French Ambassador to Vietnam Olivier Brochet emphasized the positive transformations in the relationship between France and Vietnam over the past 50 years, as they have developed into crucial partners in various fields — with a particular emphasis on culture and education.

Brochet envisions the artistic performance program ‘Hue by Light – The Live Show,’ scheduled for December 12, as a significant milestone in advancing the relationship between France and Thua Thien-Hue Province.

The show promises to be an extraordinary sound and light spectacle staged at the Meridian Gate, also known as the South Gate or Ngo Mon in Vietnamese, which is the main gate to the Imperial City located within the citadel of Hue in the province.

Anticipated to draw an audience of 10,000, the show is entirely free of charge.

Conducted by AC3 Studio, the team behind the lighting segment for the opening ceremony of the 2024 Paris Summer Olympics, the program is poised to feature French artists, experts, and cutting-edge 3D mapping lighting technology.

During the performance, French artists will utilize a projector system with a light intensity of 300,000 lumens to cast mesmerizing 3D visual effects on Ngo Mon.

The show will showcase images of the gate adorned with white snow and mythical creatures like dragons and phoenixes, brought to life through 3D mapping art.

Enhanced by music performances from renowned artists from both France and Vietnam, the event guarantees an unprecedented and unique artistic spectacle for the audience.

Brochet also expects to collaborate with Thua Thien-Hue to transform the December 12 3D mapping performance at Ngo Mon into a distinctive tourism product.

Nguyen Thanh Binh, deputy chairman of the provincial People’s Committee, sees eye to eye with Brochet, saying that the province plans to collaborate with AC3 Studio post-performance to explore opportunities for turning this program into a tourism offering.
