Nestled amidst the mountainous terrain of Sung La Commune, Dong Van District, lies the picturesque village of Lao Xa, home to the Mong ethnic group.

Embarking on a winding road that leads to this hidden gem, visitors are enveloped in a refreshing blanket of fog and invigorating mountain air. Upon arrival, travelers are greeted with warm hospitality by Vang Mi Hong, the owner of the village’s first homestay. Guests are welcomed with steaming cups of coffee to savor.

In addition to the warm welcome, visitors are treated to a tantalizing feast prepared by Hong. Fragrant rice accompanied by an array of local delicacies such as stir-fried cabbage, noodles, grilled pork, fried eggs, and chewy dried buffalo meat fill the table, delighting the taste buds. Hong proudly shares that his home, now transformed into a cozy homestay, has witnessed the passage of three generations and stands as a testament to the village’s rich history.
