Addressing the opening ceremony, Thierry Vergon, director of the French Institute in Hanoi and president of the EU National Institutes for Culture (EUNIC), shared that the function would help participants gain a deeper understanding of the various cultures, lifestyles, and people of different countries around the world, as well as other aspects.

The 2023 European Literature Days will showcase a wide variety of literary works from the UK, Poland, Belgium, Denmark, Germany, Hungary, France, Finland, the Czech Republic, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, and Italy, he announced.

During the event, readers will have the opportunity to interact with authors, translators, editors, and publishers, while attending seminars and participating in interactive activities.
