Ha Tien City is an ideal destination for domestic and international tourists, especially travelers from neighboring Cambodia.

According to Nguyen Thi Mong Quyen, director of the Ha Tien trade and tourism promotion center, the city, located in Vietnam’s Kien Giang Province, has both land and sea borders with Cambodia, making it convenient for Cambodian visitors to enter the city.

In recent months, the number of Cambodian travelers visiting Ha Tien to explore its natural beauty and enjoy local delicacies has been increasing.

“Since the beginning of the year, Ha Tien City has welcomed over three million domestic and international tourists,” Quyen revealed.

“A significant portion of these visitors are from Cambodia.

“During holidays and festivals, we typically receive between 1,000 and 2,000 Cambodian tourists.”

To welcome Cambodian travelers during the upcoming Christmas and 2024 New Year holidays, travel agencies in Ha Tien are working on offering new tourism products and enhancing current tourist attractions such as Dong Ho Lagoon, a seaside path along Den Mountain, Thach Dong Cave, and Da Dung Mountain.

Tourists can enjoy activities such as swimming in the sea, playing water sports, and indulging in seafood and local specialties.

Du To Tuan, director of Vietravel’s branch in Rach Gia City, Kien Giang Province, expressed that Cambodia is a promising tourism market.

He added, “They usually visit Ha Tien first, then take a speedboat to the renowned Phu Quoc Island.”

“We are excitedly looking forward to welcoming a large number of tourists to Ha Tien City during the 2024 New Year holiday,” Tuan concluded.

“We will introduce various community-based tourism products to provide diverse services and delight international visitors.”
