Vietnam-Japan Diplomatic Relations Commemorated Through Singing Contest

A new initiative has been launched to foster deepening relations between Vietnam and Japan through increased diplomatic efforts and strengthened people-to-people exchanges.

The competition to perform the song “Tomodachi – Tinh ban” (Tomodachi – Friendship), a harmonious tribute to the friendship between Vietnam and Japan, will commence on September 15 and run until the conclusion of December 2023.

Join us as we celebrate the 50th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations
between our two countries (1973-2023). This series of activities will honor this
significant milestone and showcase the strong bond between our nations.

The top five performers who showcase exceptional talent in singing the song in Japanese and Vietnamese will be awarded a chance to visit Japan.

In order to participate in this program, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Be Vietnamese citizens
  • Age must be between 6 and 22
  • Reside in Vietnam

You can register for the contest by either visiting our designated locations in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Haiphong, Danang, and Cantho or by registering online. Don’t miss out on this opportunity to participate!

Contestants are invited to submit a clip of their performance of the song “Tomodachi – Friendship” to the email address of the Organizing Committee’s Representative Office: [email protected]. Alternatively, contestants may choose to share their clip on social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok, using the hashtag #Tomodachi, and then send the link to the Organizing Committee’s email.

The Vietnam-Japan friendship song, titled “Tomodachi – Friendship,” is a heartfelt tribute to the values of friendship and inclusivity. Emphasizing the importance of unity and understanding among individuals, the song underscores the potential for collaboration in creating a remarkable, harmonious, and joyous world. Mizushima Kozo, the Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Japanese Business Association, eloquently expressed this sentiment.

He expressed gratitude for the contest’s role in promoting the Vietnam-Japan friendship song and the keyword “Tomodachi-Friendship” among citizens of both countries, with a particular focus on the younger generation, in order to foster a sense of camaraderie.

Award Ceremony of the Singing Contest

The highly anticipated award ceremony of the singing contest has been officially scheduled for December of this year. It promises to be an unforgettable event, showcasing the incredible talent and dedication of all the contestants.
