Chua Ta Cave, located in Na Com Village, He Muong Commune, Dien Bien District, is a national relic recognised by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism. Surrounded by a limestone mountain complex, the cave boasts diverse geology, geomorphology, topography, climate, ecology, and landscape. The name “Chua Ta” comes from the Mong people’s language, where “Chua” means mountain and “Ta” means bee, representing “bee mountain.” Also known as Na Com Cave, the cave is accessible through two challenging routes providing visitors with the opportunity to appreciate the majestic natural scenery and explore the cultural sub-regions of the local ethnic people. With an entrance located under a forest of high trees at an altitude of more than 1,300m, Chua Ta Cave features a nearly 600m long cave system with two main compartments. Inside, visitors can admire the stunning stalactites and stone formations, including waterfalls, images of Bodhisattvas, fairies, animals, and plants. The cave also offers a magnificent masterpiece of terraced fields made of stone, complete with a small waterfall and a picturesque small stream.
