The authorities in Dak Lak province, located in the Central Highlands, have been granted approval by Deputy Prime Minister Trinh Dinh Dung to suspend the event in order to prioritize the safety of the local population as part of the efforts to prevent and control COVID-19.
This festival, which takes place every two years in March, is a significant event that commemorates the liberation of Dak Lak province and attracts visitors from all over the country. In the previous edition of the festival in March 2019, it welcomed 50,000 attendees, including 6,000 foreigners.
The festival usually includes a variety of exciting activities, such as a street festival, an elephant festival, a culinary competition, a boat race, a contest for coffee growers, and a coffee exhibition.
The main objective of this event is to promote the renowned Buon Ma Thuot coffee brand and establish Dak Lak as the coffee growing capital of Vietnam on a global scale.
