The Golden Girls have achieved a remarkable feat in women’s football tournaments at the Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games), capturing their sixth gold medal. They triumphed over Thailand, whom they narrowly defeated in the 2017 SEA Games in Malaysia. This impressive achievement was reported by Fox Sport Asia.

The final match between Vietnam and Thailand at the ASEAN Women’s Championship 2019 in Manila was an exhilarating rematch of their previous encounter in Chonburi earlier that year. Similar to their previous match, Vietnam had to wait until extra time to secure the winning goal. Pham Hai Yen emerged as the hero for Mai Duc Chung’s team, scoring the decisive goal in the third minute of extra time. This hard-fought victory crowned Vietnam as the champions of the women’s tournament.

In the bronze medal match, Myanmar managed to overcome the hosts, the Philippines, with a 2-1 score. Quinley Quezada initially gave the hosts the lead with a goal in the 57th minute. However, Myanmar staged an impressive comeback with goals from July Kyaw and Yee Yee Oo in the 78th and 80th minutes, respectively, securing the bronze medal.
