The Vietnam Pho Festival is an annual culinary event organized by the Tuoi Tre newspaper, celebrating the iconic Vietnamese dish, Pho. This year, the festival returns for its eighth edition, showcasing the very best of Vietnamese cuisine with a focus on this beloved noodle soup.
Taking place on October 5-6 at Yeouido Park, the festival will feature 40 Pho vendors from Vietnam and the RoK, offering a diverse range of Pho variations and flavors.
Besides the delicious food, the festival will host a variety of engaging activities. This includes a B2B matching session, a Pho discovery event for Korean YouTubers and Pho enthusiasts, an exhibition delving into the history of Pho, and traditional folk games from both countries.
Pham Huy Binh, Chairman of the Saigontourist Group, a key partner in the festival, emphasized their commitment to promoting Vietnamese culture and cuisine globally. He also highlighted their aim to attract more Korean tourists to Vietnam through this event.
Saigontourist will be offering a special tourism product, providing visitors with tickets to the festival and coupons to enjoy Pho and other delicious Vietnamese dishes.
Vietnamese Ambassador to the RoK, Vu Ho, underscored the festival’s significance in strengthening cultural exchanges and economic ties between the two nations. He expressed his hope for Vietnamese Pho restaurants to flourish in the RoK, becoming easily accessible to all.
The Vietnam Pho Festival 2024 is directed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee, with support from the Vietnamese Embassy in Seoul, the Trade Promotion Agency, and the Business Association of Vietnamese in Korea (BAViK). Last year’s festival in Japan attracted 85,000 visitors, showcasing the popularity of this culinary celebration.
