Michelin Guides has unveiled its latest Bib Gourmand list for 2024, recognizing exceptional culinary experiences at moderate prices. On June 20, five new restaurants in Hanoi and eight in Ho Chi Minh City were added, bringing the total to 42 award-winning eateries in Vietnam’s two largest cities.

The 2024 Bib Gourmand selection for Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City showcases a diverse range of cuisines, including Vietnamese Noodle, European Contemporary, Street Food, Vegetarian, Cantonese, and Latin American. This variety is a testament to the vibrant and affordable culinary scenes in both cities.
In Hanoi, the five new additions to the Bib Gourmand list are: Bun cha Chan, serving grilled pork with fresh noodles and offering a unique twist with grilled pork belly or minced beef in betel leaf; Luk Lak, a restaurant known for its Sapa pork belly in herb sauce, grilled to perfection; Mien Luon Dong Thinh, a 40-year-old establishment specializing in eel dishes with noodles and soup; Mr. Bay Mien Tay, a small shop with a signature crispy bánh xèo pancake and a variety of fillings; and Pho Khoi Hoi, a street eatery serving pho with a range of rare and common beef cuts.

According to Gwendal Poullennec, International Director of the Michelin Guides, the addition of 13 new Bib Gourmand restaurants in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City is an invitation for gourmets to explore the charm and infinite variety of Vietnamese cuisine. He adds that the Bib Gourmand selection offers an authentic culinary experience at moderate prices, allowing diners to discover the lifestyle and culture of these vibrant cities through their delicious and affordable food.
