The upcoming event promises an immersive experience with over 50 exhibits across five themes, all centered around the beloved dish of sushi. From its humble beginnings in Edo-period Japan to its modern-day global popularity, sushi’s journey is a fascinating one.
Attendees will have the opportunity to dive into Japanese culture, with activities like trying on traditional Happi clothing, learning basic Japanese writing and songs, and creating Origami art. But the highlight is sure to be the simulated visit to a sushi shop in Japan, where even sushi novices can explore and appreciate the diverse cuisine on offer.
Recognized by UNESCO as an Intangible Cultural Heritage, washoku, or Japanese cuisine, has captured the world’s taste buds with sushi at the forefront. Sushi’s universal appeal lies in its delicate flavors, healthy ingredients, and visually appealing presentation.
This event goes beyond the dish itself, offering insights into how sushi has evolved globally. It explores how different regions have adapted sushi to suit their unique cultural and environmental contexts, creating a truly international phenomenon.
Through this exhibition, visitors will gain a deeper understanding of sushi’s enduring appeal and its ability to bring people together across borders, celebrating a shared love of delicious and healthy food.
