Binh Dinh to Host Teqball World Series in Early June

From June 6th to June 9th, the sandy shores of the Victory Monument area, located on Xuan Dieu Street in Quy Nhon City, Binh Dinh Province will play host to the 2024 Teqball World Series.

Athletes from 50 countries and regions will take part in the competition in Quy Nhon city, competing in men’s singles and doubles and mixed doubles. According to VNS, it is expected that former Brazilian football star Ronaldinho will attend this event as the global brand ambassador of Teqball.

More than 50 teams from more than 50 countries around the world, including the Vietnamese team in the men’s singles, men’s doubles, and men’s – women’s doubles events will participate (Photo: Tiin.vn).

The tournament is expected to take place at the sandy beach in the Victory Monument area (Xuan Dieu Street, Quy Nhon City). The representatives from the provincial People’s Committee of Binh Dinh province said hosting of the tournament is an impressive highlight for locals and international friends.

Accordingly, it would help spread beautiful images of Binh Dinh in general and of Quy Nhon in particular. It will help promote foreign investment in different sectors, especially tourism, into the province, contributing to socio-economic development and raising the country’s position in the international arena.

Teqball was first introduced in Hungary in 2014. It is a ball sport that is played on a curved table, combining elements of sepak takraw (Malaysian-styled football) and table tennis. Players can hit the ball with any part of the body except arms and hands. a singles game includes two players, a doubles game includes four.

The International Teqball Federation (FITEQ) is currently home to more than 150 country federations. There are more than 4,000 clubs all over the world. Up to now, FITEQ organized five World Cup tournaments in 2017, 2018, 2019, 2022 and 2023.
