The event was organized by the Vietnam-France Friendship Association in Hanoi on September 23 to commemorate the 50th anniversary of bilateral diplomatic ties and the 10th anniversary of the establishment of the bilateral strategic partnership.
Vice President of the association, Nguyen Thai Dung, stated that the forum provided an opportunity for businesses to explore potential tourism in both Vietnam and France, as well as exchange tourism products.
Obstacles to tourism development were also discussed, with the aim of helping the two countries develop policies to improve the situation and promote tourism cooperation, according to Dung.
Le Ba Dung, Vice Chairman of the Hanoi Tourism Association, highlighted that Vietnam and Hanoi in particular have become a popular destination for French tourists. He suggested enhancing cooperation between travel partners and airlines to fully leverage the potential and advantages in this regard.
Le Thuy Nhung, a representative from Vietravel Hanoi, recommended utilizing the strong bilateral relations between Vietnam and France to enhance tourism cooperation. She believes that this cooperation will help travel firms, hotels, restaurants, and other businesses further grow.
With the approaching peak season of tourism, the number of international tourists visiting Vietnam has significantly increased, particularly after the implementation of the new visa policy in August. The extended e-visa validity period and multiple entry provisions under the amended laws have contributed to this growth.
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism reported that the sector has already welcomed 8 million international arrivals this year, meeting the set target. Vietnam aims to receive about 12 million foreign visitors by the end of this year.
Various programs have been implemented to welcome international arrivals and introduce new tourism products to attract new markets, such as Islamic countries and meeting, incentive, and conference (MICE) tourist markets.
Hanoi authorities have also announced plans to organize several events in the coming months, including an autumn festival, a traditional costume festival, a Hanoi gift festival, and night tourism products, to attract more visitors.
