Discussing the Transformation of WTC Operations in the Digital Age

Held on August 10, the 2023 Asia Pacific Regional Meeting of the World Trade Centres Association (WTCA) focused on the topic of “Transforming WTC Operations in the Digital Age” in the southern province of Binh Duong.

In his opening remarks, Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Vo Van Minh emphasized the significance of participating in the WTC playground to enhance economic integration and the establishment of a WTC in Binh Duong New City, funded by Becamex IDC. He highlighted how this contributes to the development of a new service ecosystem that is closely linked to the province’s smart city development strategy, as reported by VietnamPlus.

After four years of establishment and growth, the WTC Binh Duong New City has become a prominent destination and a vital hub for domestic and international trade, hosting events on various topics such as smart city development, science and technology, innovation, and global digital transformation.

Chairman Minh expressed his hope to identify important breakthrough solutions that will foster the development of a dynamic economy, meet international integration requirements, effectively support the industrialization and modernization process, and successfully realize the goal of developing Binh Duong into a smart city that improves people’s quality of life.

Crystal Edn, the Executive Director-Member Services for the WTCA, praised Binh Duong’s organization of the 2023 WTCA Asia Pacific Regional Meeting, highlighting how it will facilitate the sharing and exchange of knowledge and experiences among experts, scientists, speakers, and businesses from various countries.

The two-day meeting includes discussion sessions on business opportunities in Binh Duong and Vietnam, as well as investment and trade connections among WTCA members in Asia and with domestic and foreign partners.

A session focusing on rapidly developing service industries in Binh Duong province, such as exhibition, real estate, and trade – service, is expected to take place during the meeting.

Last year, Binh Duong met the six rigorous criteria of the Intelligent Community Forum (ICF) and was honored as one of the 21 communities worldwide with exemplary smart city development strategies, according to Nhan dan (People) newspaper.

This marks the fourth consecutive year that Binh Duong has been named in the ICF’s Smart 21 list, alongside cities in Canada, Brazil, and Australia.

Binh Duong province continues to implement foundation projects and develop the next smart city development project (2022-2026), with a focus on innovation and Industry 4.0 for smart growth.

The World Trade Centres Association (WTCA) serves as a catalyst for trade and investment opportunities for commercial property developers, economic development agencies, and international businesses seeking global connections and local prosperity.

The association operates as an international ecosystem with its global connections, iconic properties, and integrated trade services, all under the esteemed WTCA brand.
