According to the photographer, the moss season will occur from late May to mid-July in Hon Kho, located in Nhon Hai commune, Quy Nhon, Binh Dinh.

Hon Kho, also known as Cu Lao Hon Kho, is part of Nhon Hai fishing village, about 20 km from Quy Nhon city. The moss season in this area takes place from mid-May to the end of August, creating a beautiful and colorful scene. Many tourists and photographers choose to visit this place to enjoy the scenery and capture unique Instagram photos.

Hoang Duong has spent a considerable amount of time waiting for the perfect moment when the sea level is low, revealing the apricot-colored moss on the seabed. “I was fortunate to have good weather and clear seawater during my work time from 11 am to 3 pm when I captured the most perfect photos,” he said.

Nhon Hai fishing village is a new and attractive travel destination due to its beautiful beach and well-preserved colorful coral reefs. Travelers can observe the moss bed clinging to underwater rocks and coral reefs. The highest and strongest growth of sea moss occurs during June and July when long branches of moss cover the water surface, creating a yellow field that resembles a captivating fairyland.

The Hon Kho Sea, known for its highly diverse underwater ecosystem and stunning coral reef, attracts many tourists who come here to explore.

Kayaking on the sea gives visitors the feeling of walking on a “golden field,” with crystal-clear blue water and thick layers of apricot-colored moss floating on the surface.

“This place also features a unique 500m-long road across the sea that allows visitors to conveniently visit lovely clusters of sea moss. For photographers, the moss harvest season in Hon Kho presents a golden opportunity to capture brilliant photos,” shared Hoang Duong.

The apricot-colored moss is a natural gift of Quy Nhon Sea. It possesses both nutritional value and pharmacological effects. Harvesting moss for export generates income and improves the lives of the locals.

During low tide, many tourists opt for stand-up paddleboarding (SUP) to watch the sea moss. This is also the time when the mysterious and unique ancient city wall, hidden underwater for hundreds of years, becomes visible. The wall, approximately 10 meters wide, remains a mystery that attracts many tourists to capture breathtaking check-in pictures. Additionally, every season when the moss regrows, the walls are covered with a thick layer of sea moss, forming a road along the sea.
