Monivongsa Bophagram, a Khmer pagoda with a significant architecture of Theravada Buddhism, is the most beautiful and largest pagoda in Ca Mau. The pagoda was built in 1964, by Venerable Thach Ken calling for contributions from the Buddhist followers. The pagoda has an area of about 230 square meters, including the main hall, the sala, the houses of the monks, the shrine, and the lotus ponds.

The two main colors of the pagoda are red and golden yellow, which symbolize prosperity, peace, and luck. Each column of the Monivongsa Bophagram has an image of a fairy standing in the dome. The embossed figures appear alternately and throughout each architectural part of the place.

The main gate of the pagoda faces the East side. Above it is the picture of 3 towers representing the Three Realms or the Three Jewels, decorated with many sophisticated patterns. Just about 100 meters from the gate, tourists can see the large pagoda grounds that are surrounded by tall trees. A Khmer pagoda usually has a main gate and other side gates to welcome tourists and Buddhists coming here to worship and admire the majestic beauty of the place. This is also a common feature of the Khmer Nam Bo pagodas.

The most impressive part of Monivongsa Bopharam is the giant Buddha statue placed right in the middle of the courtyard, capturing the hearts of travelers and embracing the sacred atmosphere of the pagoda.

Thien Lam Pagoda, which is located in Tan Thanh Ward, and was built around 1810, has been undergoing restoration and embellishment in order to preserve its unique and sacred beauty.

The most outstanding architectural feature of Thien Lam Pagoda is the magnificent golden stupa with its pinnacle tens of meters high, engraved with delicate reliefs, and majestically soaring up in the sky. The stupa is iconic and representative of the unique characteristics of Theravada Buddhism at this 60-year-old pagoda.

Surrounding the spacious space with the stupa are green trees, statues, and landscapes in miniature having been brilliantly created and adorned. With sincere appreciation and a hand phone with a normal camera, you will get satisfying photos right after a few magic clicks. Therefore, many visitors to Thien Lam Pagoda feel as though they were lost in the “Land of Golden Pagoda” in Hue with stupas, colors, and architecture.

Meanwhile, many young travelers choose Thien Lam Pagoda as the place to preserve their youth. With sophistication and investment, they decide to put on the traditional Chakkri (Thai traditional costume) to check in at the “Land of Golden Pagoda”.

Another feature of Thien Lam Pagoda is its delicate beauty regardless of the weather. On sunny days, the landscape of the Pagoda brightens with vitality; and this is a very suitable time for a sightseeing stroll. What is more particular is that the continual rain embellishes the unique beauty of the pagoda.
