2023 Danang Fireworks Festival Opens

This year’s theme was “The Return of the Phoenix”, and it was a memorable night for the thousands of visitors who had the chance to witness the stunning display of fireworks.

After a three-year hiatus due to Covid-19, the Danang International Fireworks Festival – DIFF 2023 made a spectacular return on June 2nd with a dazzling show between Vietnam and Finland. The theme for this year’s festival was “The Return of the Phoenix”, and it was an unforgettable night for the thousands of spectators who had the chance to witness the truly remarkable display of fireworks.

Warm up the Heart

Joho Pyro’s vibrant fireworks display promised to warm the hearts of the audience, according to Captain of the Finnish team, Johan Hollander. He said that the team’s first-time participation in 2019 was impressive and had incredible power and creativity. The bright and beautiful display of fireworks was a captivating sight, leaving onlookers in awe.

The crowd was mesmerized by the display of colour and energy that Joho Pyro put into the show. From the mesmerizing sparks of blue to the vibrant bursts of red, the display was truly a spectacle to behold. People from all around gathered to watch the show, applauding and cheering as the dazzling display lit up the night sky.

The team’s remarkable efforts were applauded by all who witnessed the event, and it is no wonder that their display earned them a place in the hearts of the crowd. Joho Pyro’s fireworks show was sure to warm the hearts of the audience, and it will be remembered for years to come.

To set the mood for the night, our fireworks display will begin with an exciting and lively melody. We will then transition to something more soothing and emotional with the song “Listen to Your Heart”. Finally, the show, which seeks to promote solidarity, love, and peace among people across the globe, will end on a high note with the uplifting melody of “Circle of Life” (from the animated musical drama film The Lion King).

Finland’s adversary, the Vietnamese squad, will put on a 20-minute and 25-second firework show with the theme “Danang – The Resonance of Peace”. This spectacular display is sure to captivate audiences with its vibrant colors and sounds, providing a memorable experience for all who witness it. The fireworks will be set off from the city of Danang, in Vietnam, and will feature a variety of colors, shapes, and sizes. The symbolism behind the display is meant to represent the long-standing friendship between Finland and Vietnam, and to promote peace and understanding between the two countries. This meaningful display is sure to be a sight to behold!

At the opening ceremony, many renowned Vietnamese singers and international artists graced the colorful banquet, including iconic singers Tung Duong, Ho Ngoc Ha, and the talented young artist Lam Bao Ngoc.

Under the theme “A World Without Distance”, DIFF 2023 will be held from June 2 to July 8 on the banks of the Han River, bringing together eight teams from around the world, including Italy, Poland, France, Australia, Canada, Finland, the United Kingdom, and the host nation, Danang. The event promises to be a celebration of international unity and understanding, allowing participants to bridge geographical divides and come together in a spirit of friendship and inclusivity. With the setting of the beautiful Han River, DIFF 2023 is sure to be a memorable experience for all those who attend.

After the opening match between the Vietnamese and Finnish teams, there will be matches between teams from Canada and France on June 10, Australia and Italy on June 17, and Poland and the United Kingdom on June 24. The final will be held on July 8.

DIFF 2023 is part of the “WOW Danang” program, a component of the “WOW Vietnam” tourism promotion campaign initiated by the Sun Group. The nationwide campaign is designed to showcase a variety of attractive tourist destinations throughout Vietnam to both local and international travelers. Through this campaign, visitors will have the opportunity to explore and experience some of the best attractions that Vietnam has to offer.

For the past 11 years, Danang has become the focus of Vietnam’s summer festivals due to the emergence of DIFF, a highly renowned event. This has made the city of Danang a popular destination for tourists and locals alike, offering a wide array of exciting activities and attractions.

The return of DIFF this summer marks the strong recovery of Vietnam’s tourism after Covid-19.
