In the National Costume segment, she performed in an outfit with the theme of “Poinsettia Flower” which was designed by Le Long Vu and Than Nguyen An Kha. The outfit draws inspiration from the legend of the Poinsettia Flower and Nguyen Thi Due, with the figure being the first and only doctoral laureate female mandarin in Vietnamese feudal history.

The performance saw the local beauty wow both audiences and judges by displaying her wonderful figure in the Swimsuit segment.

Despite her best efforts, Phuong Anh still failed to make the Top 15.

Phuong Anh is 22-years-old and stands at 1.77 metres tall with measurements of 87-61-93. The beauty, hailing from Ho Chi Minh City, first rose to prominence by winning the first runner-up title at Miss Vietnam 2020. She is currently working as an emcee for Vietnam Television (VTV).

The Top 15 of Miss International 2022 includes contestants from France, Poland, New Zealand, Germany, the Philippines, Cape Verde, Peru, Jamaica, Colombia, Costa Rica, Canada, the Dominican Republic, Spain, Northern Mariana Islands, and the UK.

First launched in 1960, Miss International makes up one of the Big Four international beauty competitions, alongside Miss World, Miss Universe, and Miss Earth. This year’s contest was originally scheduled to take place in Japan in 2021, but was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

At previous contests, Vietnamese representatives have claimed major prizes, with Pham Hong Thuy Van winning the third runner-up title back in 2015, whilst Tuong San finished among the Top 8 in 2019.
