The Vietnamese leader thanked China for sharing experience and supporting Vietnam with vaccines in the fight against COVID-19. He expressed his wish that the two sides will continue cooperation in COVID-19 prevention and control and post-pandemic recovery.
He called on the two sides to continue improving the effectiveness of maritime cooperation; promote discussions and negotiations on the delimitation and properly handle maritime issues, and effectively coordinate with the Association of Southeast Asian Nations in negotiations to build a practical and effective Code of Conduct in the East Sea in accordance with international law, including the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS).
The Chinese leader affirmed that China attaches great importance to the traditional friendly neighbourliness with Vietnam and is willing to work with the Party, Government, and people of Vietnam to continue strengthening the comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership between the two countries in the process of building socialism. He also agreed to enhance high-level exchanges and boost practical cooperation in various fields, coordinate together at multilateral forums, and properly handle maritime issues.
He said that given the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, it was necessary for the two sides to maintain regular exchanges and meetings at all levels, sectors, and localities, speed up strategic connectivity and form new bright spots in cooperation between the two countries./.
