Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam emphasized the need to promote digital transformation with the goal of serving people. As head of the National Steering Committee for Covid-19 Control and Prevention of Vietnam, the Deputy Prime Minister highlighted the struggles of anti-epidemic participants and the role played by ICT in the fight against the epidemic.
Themed “Building the digital world. Together”, the event brings together more than 50 International Telecommunication Union member countries.
Participants said during the Covid-19 outbreak, ICT has developed more faster and can be applied much more closely to everyday life.
Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Manh Hung said Vietnam’s digital infrastructure is now ready for a digital-based economy and society.
Vietnam is striving to make technology a driver of development and global cooperation, thus joining efforts in building a digital world./.
ITU Secretary General Houlin Zhao said Vietnam is an important partner in many markets in Asia, Africa, Latin America and the Caribbean region, which has made the country become a bright example in IT development to many other developing countries./.
