Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Le Minh Hoan emphasized the importance of collaboration between developing countries in the rapidly changing world.
“Vietnam is committed to expanding South-South cooperation to support African countries in achieving food security and nutrition, as well as green growth, sustainable development, and prosperity,” said Hoan.
Dr. Jongsoo Shin, Director of the International Rice Research Institute (Asia region), highlighted the potential of South-South cooperation in revolutionizing rice production in Asia and Africa. He also emphasized that sharing knowledge and expertise is one of the main goals of South-South Cooperation. Through direct field exchanges, training programs, research partnerships, and technology transfer, farmers will be better equipped to adapt to new farming methods.
During the dialogue workshop, Vietnamese and international panelists discussed the significance of collaborative efforts in improving global food security and building a more sustainable future for rice farmers.
