At the exchange, students from Vietnam National University, Hanoi expressed their interest in Vietnam-Singapore relations, especially the digital economy-green economy partnership between the two countries, lessons and experience, Singapore’s development experience and policies on education, science, technology and innovation.
They are also interested in policies to promote cooperation between Singapore and Vietnam’ universities, especially in areas of research, innovation, artificial intelligence, and the expectations of leaders for the young generation.

Students’ questions were answered by the two Prime Ministers. Regarding the expectations for students and the young generation, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh emphasized that Vietnam is a heroic nation, and has experienced many difficulties and challenges, with dedications and sacrifices of many generations for the country to have the international position and prestige as it is today.”

The leader of the Government hoped that students will spend more time researching, studying, accumulating experience, and practicing to do well in their future jobs. It contributed to the cause of national construction and development, peace, stability, cooperation and development in the world.
The Prime Minister of Singapore shared that resources come from thinking, motivation comes from innovation. Entrepreneurial innovation originates from culture and strength originates from the people.
Lee Hsien Loong said that he has been to Vietnam many times and witnessed constant innovation. He was impressed with the energy of its young people.
“This is one of the bases to believe in stronger future development of Vietnam as well as relations between the two countries.
Students always have a lot of innovative ideas and we look forward to working with you to improve the world for the better,” said the Prime Minister of Singapore.

Regarding the implementation of the digital economy-green economy partnership between Vietnam and Singapore, the two Prime Ministers said that in the coming time, the two countries are expected to promote cooperation in the field of digital transformation on three main pillars including digital government, digital economy and digital society.
Singapore will support Vietnam in promoting digital transformation in priority areas, such as population management, finance and banking, land, e-commerce, and data center construction.
Regarding the green economy, the two sides will coordinate in implementing a fair energy transition, promoting grid connection between Vietnam and Singapore.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh said that digital transformation, green transformation, circular economy, sharing economy, innovation, and human resource training are also areas that Vietnam needs to learn more from Singapore.
Therefore, the head of the Government of Vietnam said that the young generation needs to participate and contribute to promoting cooperation between the two countries in these important new fields.
On this occasion, under the witness of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong, Vietnam National University in Hanoi, Vietnam National University in Ho Chi Minh City and Nanyang Technological University (NTU – Singapore) signed cooperation agreements in exchanging of staff, lecturers, students and scientific research.
