President Vo Van Thuong met with Vietnamese and foreign professors, scientists, and experts attending the Vietnam International Dental Exhibition & Congress 2023 (VIDEC 2023) in Hanoi.
During the meeting, the President acknowledged the contributions of scientific research, technology development, and innovation in the medical field, particularly in odonto-stomatology, towards enhancing Vietnam’s medical standards globally.

President Thuong emphasized the commitment of the Party and State of Vietnam towards protecting, caring for, and improving the health of its citizens. He praised the development of Vietnam’s dental sector and its ability to implement advanced techniques at regional and global standards.
Vietnam attracts tens of thousands of international visitors every year who seek dental treatment and examinations.
President Thuong expressed his desire for further cooperation between international scientists and dental associations with Vietnam.

According to Associate Professor Dr. Tran Cao Binh, director of the National Odonto-Stomatology Hospital and chairman of the Vietnam Odonto-Stomatology Association, the VIDEC 2023 attracts thousands of delegates from 23 countries and territories.
The congress, organized by the Vietnam Odonto-Stomatology Association, the Hanoi Central Odonto-Stomatology Hospital, and the Ho Chi Minh City Central Odonto-Stomatology Hospital, focuses on the development and utilization of human resources in the dental field. Various events and exhibitions showcasing modern dental equipment and materials are also taking place.
During the meeting, Dr. Wong Chi-wai Nelson, chairman of the Asia-Pacific Dental Federation and chairman of the Hong Kong Dental Association (China), expressed his congratulations to Vietnam and pledged to collaborate with research and training establishments in odonto-stomatology in the near future.
Dr. Lawrence Yong, president of the Singapore Dental Association, praised the dedication and enthusiasm of young Vietnamese doctors and nurses.
Professor Ngo Chi Hien, a Vietnamese-born scientist and former Head of the Department of Odonto-Stomatology at the University of Western Australia, commended Vietnam’s progress in the maxillofacial industry and the commitment of Vietnamese medical professionals to the healthcare of the people.

The VIDEC 2023, with more than 3,000 domestic and international delegates, features 114 scientific reports from 23 countries and territories. It serves as a platform for dental associations to discuss the development and utilization of human resources in the field.
Alongside the conference, there is an International Odonto-Stomatology Exhibition showcasing the latest dental equipment and materials from around the world.
