This is an annual activity of Hanoi officials to commemorate Lenin, one of the most eminent political figures and revolutionary thinkers of the 20th century.
In front of Lenin’s monument, the delegates expressed their sincere respect, remembering Lenin’s great contribution to the revolutionary cause in the world, vowing absolute loyalty to Marxism-Leninism, and Ho Chi Minh’s thought.
They also swore to unanimously unite, and consistently implement the proletariat’s ideal and revolutionary cause; to build the capital as well as Vietnam more and more beautiful, civilized, and modern, contributing to the proletarian revolution in the world.
Lenin masterminded the Bolshevik takeover of power in Russia in 1917. He was the architect and first leader of the former Union of Soviet Socialist Republics (USSR). He was also a great teacher of workers worldwide.
Also on the day, representatives from the city’s agencies and organizations laid flowers at the statue of Lenin.
Last week, the central province of Nghe An, the homeland of late President Ho Chi Minh, on April 16 received a statue of Lenin, a gift from the authorities and residents of Russia’s Ulyanovsk province on the occasion of the 154th anniversary of the late Russian leader’s birthday.
