German Women of Vietnamese Origin Assist Survivors of Hanoi Apartment Blaze

Recently, the Vietnamese Women's Union in Germany has made a generous contribution to assist victims of a tragic flat fire which occured in Hanoi. The Union donated a total of 112 million Vietnamese dong (VND) (equivalent to USD 4.500) to aid those affected by the accident.

A ceremony was held on September 27 to distribute over VND 112 million (USD 4,500) from the Vietnam Women’s Union in Germany to the victims of the tragic fire at Thanh Xuan district’s mini apartment.

Thao also extended appreciation to the Vietnamese Women’s Union in Germany for their support, assuring that the funds will promptly reach the victims through the district’s Fatherland Front.

Chairman of Thanh Xuan District Fatherland Front Committee Khong Minh Thao received donations from representatives in Vietnam on behalf of the Vietnam Women’s Union in Germany.


The Thanh Xuan District Fatherland Front has received positive contributions and support from individuals across the country and abroad in assisting the fire victims to overcome the severe consequences.


Thao stated that the Thanh Xuan Fatherland Front is actively advising and proposing plans to Hanoi for supporting the victims’ families with the donated funds, including housing, welfare, and education expenses.

Last week, the Vietnamese community in Poland also donated VND 153 million (USD 6,200) to support the blaze victims.

The tragic fire in a mini apartment block in Khuong Dinh ward, Thanh Xuan district of Hanoi, claimed the lives of 56 people and injured 37, making it the deadliest fire incident in recent years.
