Held by the Vietnam Journalist Association, the event aims to create an open mechanism to share the practices, progress and best methods for digital transformation in media among ASEAN countries.

For journalism, digital transformation is the application of digital technology to change content management, operation, production, publishing, content distribution, and business models. Thereby, digital transformation helps optimize editorial management, create quality products, attractive new experiences, convenience, and effective access to information for the public.

Digital transformation also adds new values to press agencies and national journalism. A digital newsroom model, with multi-platform journalism, multimedia, data journalism, and automated journalism, requires technology, human resources, and innovation conditions in organizational and management methods.
