Russian President Vladimir Putin arrives in Hanoi, accompanied by Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko, and Russian Ambassador to Vietnam Gennady Bezdetko.

President Putin embarks on a state visit to Vietnam from June 19-20, following an invitation from Party leader Nguyen Phu Trong.

This marks the fifth official visit to Vietnam by the Russian President.

Vietnam and Russia share a rich history, with diplomatic relations dating back to January 30, 1950. The two nations elevated their ties to a Strategic Partnership in 2001 and further strengthened their bond with a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in 2012.

Le Hoai Trung, Secretary of the Party Central Committee’s External Relations Commission, and Vietnamese Ambassador to Russia, Dang Minh Khoi, warmly welcome the Russian delegation.

Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha, who also heads the Vietnamese sub-committee of the Vietnam-Russia intergovernmental committee, is present to greet the Russian guests.

The state visit holds immense significance, aiming to further enhance the Vietnam-Russia Comprehensive Strategic Partnership across multiple fields.
