Street art performances will take place at 10:30 a.m. on December 31, including a parade called “Winter Festival” with nearly 100 artists taking part.
Holiday-makers can expect to watch street music band performances, body paintings, and street magic and bubble shows.
The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Culture and Sports is joining forces with Dam Sen Park operator Phu Tho Tourist Service Co, a subsidiary of Saigontourist, to organize Dragon Dance Championship -Dam Sen Cup.
More than 40 dragon dance troupes in Ho Chi Minh City and neighboring provinces, including Hang Anh Duong, Tam Hoa Duong, Phuoc Duyen Duong, Hao Quang Duong and among others compete in the tournament on three days between December 30 and January 1 at the Star theatre from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
A photo exhibition is on at the statue garden area at Dam Sen, showcasing 80 photos about beautiful landscapes, and architectural works of Dam Sen Park taken by photographers around the country from 2012 to now. The exhibition wraps up on January 1.
More interestingly, a music concert with its theme “Connecting the Future” will be held at La Ma Square from 6 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. to say goodbye to the old year and ring in the New Year.
The first part of the program features many famous singers such as Nguyen Phi Hung, Bach Cong Khanh, Miko Lan Trinh and Thanh Duy Idol with exciting songs.
In the rest of the show, music enthusiasts will have the opportunity to see fascinating dances by professionals.
One of the most anticipated activities of New Year’s Eve is a 15-minute fireworks display at Cuu Khuc Bridge, starting 12 a.m. on January 1 to welcome the jubilant atmosphere of the first day in 2018.
On the occasion of the New Year holiday, the park is preparing a variety of culinary programs for local and foreign diners.
From December 30 to January 1, admission to the park is free and a 50% discount on a package will be applied to those wearing Santa Claus or Anna and Elsa princess costumes.
