The calendar of the World Week of Italian Cuisine was presented to media during a press conference held on November 7, at the Consulate General of Italy in HCMC

The event is an initiative undertaken by the whole network of 296 diplomatic and consular missions as well as cultural institutes to promote the Italian culinary culture, which is at the core of the Mediterranean diet and central to the nation’s identity and lifestyle. Over a thousand events will be organized around the world during the week to present the diversity of Italian cuisine and its regional varieties.

In HCMC and the southern and central provinces of Vietnam, there are over 20 events planned for the fourth edition of the festival in the country. This celebration is organized in cooperation with many local partners in Ho Chi Minh City, Danang, Nha Trang and other localities.

The events include workshops, seminars, meetings with Italian chefs, food and wine tasting sessions, dinners, master classes, cultural events and much more. The common thread in these events will be a focus on food education, comparisons of Italian and Vietnamese culinary and convivial cultures, organic food and its sustainability, and on the Italian education and training system for the hospitality industry.

Of course, at the fourth edition of the World Week of Italian Cuisine, Italy will showcase the best of its food and wine culture in Vietnam including the excellence of its products, which are guaranteed by a verified production chain and protected by the geographical indications system.

The whole Sistema Italia in Vietnam (Embassy in Hanoi, Consulate General in HCMC, Italian Trade Agency and ICHAM – Italian Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam) is committed to ensuring success of the World Week of Italian Cuisine as a consistent and effective initiative to strengthen bilateral, multi-faceted times between the two countries.
