An individual named An returned to Vietnam from the United States to attend a prestigious event. The event drew the participation of both the cast and crew of the movie, along with members of the local film industry.

The press briefing was captivated by the presentation of the prestigious Golden Camera award.

“Inside the Yellow Cocoon Shell” is a Vietnamese film that has recently made its debut at the prestigious 2023 Cannes Film Festival. Following its successful screening at the festival, the movie is now set to be showcased in Vietnam for local audiences to enjoy.

Tran Anh Hung, a French film director of Vietnamese origin, was awarded the Best Director prize at the 2023 Cannes Film Festival for his film ‘The Pot-au-Feu’ (La Passion de Dodin Bouffant). He expressed the significance of the screening of his movie in Vietnam as a momentous occasion and a tremendous source of encouragement.

Hung commented, “This is an exceptional film. It premiered concurrently with my own film screening at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival, so we haven’t had the chance to view each other’s works yet.”

“Inside the Yellow Cocoon Shell has emerged as a compelling artistic endeavor, undergoing constant script evolution throughout its production. This film delves into our deep-rooted connection to our homeland, Bao Loc, located in the picturesque province of Lam Dong in the Central Highlands. It presents an introspective exploration of our belief systems and the quest for purpose, offering profound insights and thought-provoking answers,” shared An.

“Inside the Yellow Cocoon Shell” is a captivating three-hour masterpiece with a deliberate and immersive storytelling experience.

According to the film review website IndieWire, this captivating story explores the soul’s insatiable yearning for the supernatural, displaying elements of transcendentalism through its masterful cinematography and seamless blending of perceived reality and implied fantasy.

The film will be screened at nearby theaters, commencing this Friday.

“Inside the Yellow Cocoon Shell” is a poignant tale that follows the journey of Thien, a young man entrusted with the solemn duty of transporting his sister-in-law’s body to their rural hometown after a devastating motorcycle accident.

In the enchanting rural landscapes of Vietnam, Thien embarks on a quest to find his elder brother, who mysteriously disappeared many years ago.

The movie premiered at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival in May, leaving the audience in awe. After the debut screening, viewers rose from their seats and gave a standing ovation for an impressive five minutes.
