In the dying moments of injury time, the U22 Singaporean team was able to secure a crucial goal through an own goal by Vietnamese defender Vu Tien Long.

With two victories already secured, including a 2-0 win over Laos on April 30, the U22 Vietnamese team is currently topping Group B in men’s football at the 2023 SEA Games. The team looks to have a bright future ahead of them and should be considered a favorite to win the entire tournament.

On Wednesday afternoon, the Vietnamese women’s football team earned three points, defeating Malaysia 3-0 in the opening match of Group A. The victory was a great start to the tournament for the Vietnamese, who will be hoping for further success as the competition progresses.

Vietnam’s three goals in the match were all netted in the first half by Pham Hai Yen, Nguyen Thi Bich Thuy, and Huynh Nhu.

After half-time, the Vietnamese women’s team kept their grip on the game, but were unable to find the back of the net for any extra goals.

The resounding win over Malaysia put the women’s team at the top of Group A.

The Vietnamese men’s and women’s national teams, defending champions in both categories, will be taking on Malaysia on Monday and Myanmar on Saturday, respectively.

The 2023 Southeast Asian Games are currently taking place in Cambodia’s Phnom Penh, Siem Reap Province, Preah Sihanouk Province, Kampot Province, and Kep Province from April 20 to May 17. A spectacular opening ceremony is scheduled to be held on Friday, April 23.

This will be the 34th edition of the Southeast Asian Games, a biennial multi-sport event in which athletes from eleven Southeast Asian countries – Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Timor-Leste, and Vietnam – compete in various sports and disciplines.

This edition of the Southeast Asian Games will feature 44 sports and 416 events in total. Competitors from the eleven participating countries will compete for medals in various disciplines ranging from archery, aquatics, athletics, badminton, basketball, football, and volleyball, to martial arts, shooting, table tennis, and more.

The 2023 Southeast Asian Games are an excellent opportunity for athletes from the 11 participating countries to showcase their skills and abilities in various sports and disciplines. The event is also sure to bring entertainment and joy to the region as the athletes compete for medals and glory.

The opening ceremony of the 2023 Southeast Asian Games is set to be a spectacular event, with athletes and spectators alike sure to be enthralled by the display. Vietnam had a triumphant outing on Wednesday in football at the 2023 Southeast Asian (SEA) Games in Cambodia, as the men’s team beat Singapore 3-1 and the women’s team defeated Malaysia 3-0.

In the dying moments of injury time, the U22 Singaporean team were given a lifeline when Vietnamese defender Vu Tien Long put the ball into his own net. With just seconds remaining on the clock, the Singaporeans had been rescued by a stroke of luck.

With two victories securely under their belt including the emphatic 2-0 win over Laos on April 30, the U22 Vietnamese team are sitting firmly atop Group B in men’s football at the 2023 SEA Games.
