The Southern Fruit Festival, an annual celebration of tropical fruits and cultural heritage, was inaugurated with a vibrant speech by Bui Thi To Trinh, deputy general director of the park. This year’s festival showcases an exotic array of locally grown tropical fruits, honoring the hard work of farmers and celebrating the region’s vibrant culture and tourism.

Festival-goers can indulge in a market offering a diverse range of local specialty fruits, including plums, avocados, mangos, mangosteens, watermelons, and longans, alongside OCOP products, all at affordable prices. It’s a feast for the senses and a great way to support local agriculture.

The food market, with over 20 stalls, takes visitors on a culinary journey across the nation, offering a chance to sample delicacies from every region. It’s a unique opportunity to explore Vietnam’s culinary diversity in one place.

One of the highlights of the festival is the impressive fruit collection, alongside creative fruit sculptures and lively musical performances. The fruit parade, in particular, is a spectacle of color and creativity, showcasing the very best of the region’s produce.

This year also introduces new events, such as the Green Unity Campaign competition, where artistic projects made from recycled materials take center stage. It’s a testament to the festival’s commitment to sustainability and environmental awareness.

For fruit enthusiasts, the Suoi Tien Farm offers a unique pick-your-own experience. With over 30 varieties of foreign fruits grown organically and to VietGAP standards, it’s a chance to taste the freshest produce straight from the source.

The Southern Fruit Festival has been a flagship tourism event for the southern city since 2004, consistently attracting around one million visitors each year. It is an anticipated highlight of the HCM City River Festival, adding a burst of color and flavor to the city’s cultural calendar until August 31.
