Held by the Vietnam National Institute of Culture and Arts Studies and the Vietnamese Women’s Museum, it is the first national level seminar on the topic.
Delegates at the workshop focused on the development history of Vietnamese ao dai, its cultural and symbolic identities, along with practices related to ao dai, as well as the diversity and changes in style, design and tailor dress.
They also proposed solutions and recommendations to raise the public awareness on the value of ao dai, thus effectively performing the task of preserving and promoting its values to meet the requirements of the nation’s socio-economic development, as well as contributing to the promotion of Vietnamese culture to the world.
