This is Nhi’s first win at the beauty pageant.
Miss Visit Japan is a sub-prize given at the Miss International 2023 competition. The winner of the prize will serve as a Japanese Tourism Ambassador and will be responsible for promoting the beauty of the Far East nation to international friends.
Phuong Nhi is 1.70 meters tall with measurements of 80-57-88. She was born in the central province of Thanh Hoa, and at 21 years old, she was the second runner-up at Miss World Vietnam 2022.
Prior to the competition, Nhi was predicted to be the second runner-up in a pre-arrival pick by beauty website Sash Factor of the Philippines. She was also predicted to make the Top 3 by Missosology, the world’s leading publication on beauty pageants.
The global pageant is scheduled to take place in Tokyo, Japan this October, with the grand finale on October 26.
Miss International, first launched in 1960, is one of the Big Four international beauty competitions, alongside Miss World, Miss Universe, and Miss Earth. This year marks the 61st edition of the global pageant.
Vietnamese representatives have achieved high rankings in previous editions of the competition. Pham Hong Thuy Van finished as the third runner-up in 2015, and Tuong San was among the Top 8 during the 2019 version of the pageant.
