A unique tournament in Quy Nhon, Vietnam, witnessed a beautiful blend of sports and romance as a couple from Greece participated in a teqball competition. Teqball, a hybrid sport that combines football, table tennis, and sepak takraw, served as the backdrop for a memorable proposal.

Georgios Milonas and his girlfriend, Paraskevi Stafilidou, took part in the tournament, which attracted 115 athletes from 52 countries and territories. The event, a first for the provincial capital city, featured an unexpected highlight when Milonas proposed to Stafilidou by getting down on one knee and presenting her with a ring near the teqball table.

The proposal left the audience shocked and inspired, with Nguyen Ngoc Huong, a local resident who witnessed the moment, expressing her admiration for the couple’s romantic gesture. She described them as “cute,” capturing the essence of their love story unfolding amidst the athletic competition.

The tournament, running until Sunday, consists of 124 qualifying matches, building up to the final match and awards ceremony. Milonas and Stafilidou’s participation added an unexpected twist, showcasing that teqball is not just about sporting excellence but also about creating memorable, life-changing moments.

As the couple from Greece demonstrated, teqball brings people together, fostering a community that extends beyond the boundaries of the sport. It blends the excitement of football, the precision of table tennis, and the cultural richness of sepak takraw, creating a unique platform for athletes and spectators alike to connect and create lasting memories.
