International Cruise Liner Brings a Record-Breaking 3,000 Tourists to Vietnam’s Quang Ninh Province.

The majestic Costa Serena has graced Vietnam’s shores on multiple occasions, but its recent docking in Ha Long City marked a memorable first. As reported by the Vietnam News Agency, this impressive international cruise liner is among the largest to grace Ha Long’s ports this year.

Aboard this magnificent vessel were international tourists eager to explore the renowned Ha Long Bay, a site of such exceptional beauty and cultural significance that it earned UNESCO World Heritage status twice, in 1994 and 2000. In addition to witnessing the breathtaking bay, passengers were set to discover other captivating attractions within the province.

The Costa Serena, embodying the essence of elegance and luxury, briefly stayed in port, scheduled to depart at 6:00 p.m. that very day. However, this was just the beginning of its journey in enchanting Ha Long.

The cruise liner is set to return to the city on October 14 and 18 and November 4 and 8, bringing with it a new wave of international visitors eager to explore this idyllic destination. According to the provincial Department of Tourism, Ha Long City anticipates welcoming approximately 60-70 cruise ships carrying a total of 70,000 passengers throughout this year.

As 2023 draws to a close, Ha Long Bay is buzzing with international tourists, particularly those opting for the unique experience of cruise travel. The peak season for cruise tourism in Ha Long typically spans from November to April, making this the perfect time to witness the bay’s vibrant energy and allure.

The 2024 cruise tourism season is off to a promising start, marked by the return of luxurious cruise ships owned by renowned companies such as Royal Caribbean Cruise Line and Azamara, including the liner Mein Schiff 5. From January to April, these vessels brought international tourists from the U.S., Canada, England, and Australia to experience the wonders of Ha Long.

Of particular note was the mid-June visit of the U.S.-flagged cruise liner, The World, which carried over 170 high-net-worth individuals, including billionaires and millionaires from the U.S. and Europe. Their four-day sojourn in Ha Long undoubtedly left a lasting impression of Vietnam’s beauty and hospitality.

Ha Long City and its breathtaking bay continue to captivate and inspire, leaving indelible marks on the hearts of those who visit. The Costa Serena’s recent visit is a testament to the enduring appeal of this magical destination.
