The annual carnival will take place on the beach at Dai Duong Park in Ha Long City, Quang Ninh province. The carnival will feature music, processions, and dancing, and will involve 1,200 actors, both professionals and amateurs. The event will also have numerous tourist boats in the vicinity.

This year’s carnival will include a drone light show, the first of its kind in Ha Long Bay. Ha Long Bay has been recognized as a World Natural Heritage Site by UNESCO twice, in 1994 and 2020. The drone show will be accompanied by a fireworks display, music, dancing, and other attractive programs. The carnival is part of the province’s 2024 tourism promotion plan.

The idea for the drone light show at Carnaval Ha Long 2024 comes from a similar event held in Hanoi on February 7. In the Hanoi show, 2,024 multicolor drones were used to form different images and words highlighting the capital’s attractive destinations and celebrating the Lunar New Year festival.

Carnaval Ha Long has been held annually since 2007 and has become a unique cultural and tourism brand of Quang Ninh province. It is a favorite venue for locals as well as domestic and foreign travelers.

The upcoming carnival is one of Quang Ninh’s nearly 200 activities planned to attract 17 million travelers, including three million international visitors, and generate a tourism revenue of VND39.1 trillion (US$1.58 billion) in 2024, according to the provincial administration.

Ha Long is expected to welcome about 140,000 tourists arriving on 70 international ships this year.
