The biennial contest is an opportunity to gather the force of photography in the country; introduce excellent photographic artworks to the national and international public; summarise and evaluate the creative artistic labour achievements of Vietnamese photographers over two years (2021 and 2022).
The event also aims to encourage artists to create new works of value in terms of content and art, serving the people’s spiritual and cultural life.
Along with that, the contest also contributes to introducing and promoting the image of the country and Vietnamese people to the domestic and international public.
At the same time, it helps management agencies and the photography industry to have an overview and properly assess the current situation of Vietnamese photography, including the problems of photo compositions in recent times, and from there, find out the right development direction for Vietnamese photography in the period of international integration.
Participants in the 2022 Vietnam Art Photo Contest and Exhibition include professional and non-professional photographers who are Vietnamese citizens and Vietnamese living and working abroad, aged 18 years or older.
