According to the provincial Department of Tourism, the contest aims to exploit the strengths, brands and unique value of Hue cuisine, stimulate tourism development; and honour and affirm the Hue culinary brand.

The contest is expected to contribute to promoting Hue’s culture in association with tourism promotion, and build Hue’s tourism image in relation to culinary culture; this is the basis for effectively building and implementing the project “Hue – Capital of Vietnamese cuisine”.

The contest contributes to arousing the pride and sense of preserving and promoting the historical tradition, the unique cultural value, the quintessence of Hue’s culinary culture to domestic and foreign tourists.

The entries must be general, highly aesthetic, showing the specific characteristics of the land with its unique heritage, traditional culinary culture, and people.

The contest is open to individuals and organisations both inside and outside the country.

It is expected the contest award ceremony and logo announcement will be held in December 2021.

The winning author will receive VND30 million in cash, vouchers from tourism and service units in Hue and a certificate from the contest’s organising board.
