The Vietnam Culture and Tourism Festival in South Korea is back and bigger than ever! Running from June 29 to July 3, 2024, the festival promises a vibrant celebration of Vietnamese culture and heritage. Organized by the Vietnam National Authority of Tourism (VNAT) under the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, this year’s event is set to be a highlight for travelers and locals alike.

A rich program of activities awaits visitors, including a forum on boosting tourism and cultural ties between Vietnam and South Korea, offering insights into the industry’s latest trends. The festival also provides a unique opportunity for businesses and localities to showcase their attractive policies, destinations, and products. It’s the perfect platform for tour operators to establish valuable connections and attract South Korean tourists, one of the region’s leading markets.

One of the highlights of the festival is the business meeting, attended by Vietnam’s top leaders, offering a glimpse into the country’s vibrant tourism industry. The event also dedicates a special space to promote Vietnam’s country, people, and its rich cultural and natural heritage. Art performances will add a splash of color and energy to the festivities, showcasing the talent and creativity of Vietnamese artists.

According to the Yeogi Eottae booking platform, Vietnam is experiencing a surge in hotel bookings from South Korean travelers for the peak summer season. In fact, bookings by South Korean visitors to Vietnam have tripled compared to the same period in 2023, solidifying Vietnam’s position as a leading destination in the region. This trend is further emphasized by statistics released by the Yeogi Eottae website, indicating that Vietnam and its Southeast Asian neighbors are at the forefront of hotel bookings in the area.

The strong tourism ties between Vietnam and South Korea were further strengthened in December 2022, with the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the Vietnam National Tourism Authority and the South Korean National Tourism Agency. This agreement laid the foundation for enhanced cooperation and mutual promotion of tourism between the two countries.

In 2023, Vietnam rolled out the red carpet to 3.6 million Korean visitors, making South Korea the top source of international tourists. Popular destinations for Korean travelers include the imperial city of Hue, the bustling cities of Danang and Hoi An, the beach havens of Nha Trang and Phu Quoc, and the charming towns of Quy Nhon and Da Lat. With its diverse landscapes, rich culture, and renowned hospitality, Vietnam continues to captivate the hearts of travelers from South Korea and beyond.
