Hanoi’s Old Quarter buzzed with excitement as a vibrant procession of traditional Vietnamese costumes weaved its way through the historic streets. This annual event, organized by the Vietnamese Village Communal House Club in partnership with the Hoan Kiem Lake Management Board and local organizations, offered a captivating glimpse into the country’s rich cultural heritage.

Over 400 volunteers participated in the colorful parade, donning exquisite traditional attire. The spectacle, now in its fifth year, commenced on November 19 at the Kim Ngan Communal House and continued throughout the holiday season.

According to Nguyen Duc Binh, artist and head of the Vietnamese Village Communal House Club, “Tet is a celebration of Vietnam’s traditional essence. With ‘Tet Viet – Tet Pho,’ we aim to immerse ourselves and others in the country’s cultural spirit and showcase its unique identity.”

The event, a beloved tradition in Hoan Kiem District, is more than just a celebration. It serves as an invitation for people of all ages to unite and honor the beauty of Vietnamese heritage. The procession wound its way past iconic landmarks, including the enchanting Hoan Kiem Lake, captivating locals and international visitors alike.
