As part of activities to celebrate the 67th anniversary of the city’s Liberation Day (May 13, 1955 – May 13, 2022), the opening ceremony saw the attendance of Politburo members: National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue, and Secretary of the Party Central Committee cum Chief Justice of the Supreme People’s Court Nguyen Hoa Binh; along with members of the Party Central Committee: Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan, Deputy Prime Minister Le Van Thanh, and Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan (People) Newspaper, Deputy Head of the PCC Commission for Communication and Education, and Chairman of the Vietnam Journalists’ Association Le Quoc Minh.

The event saw the participation of other leaders and former leaders of the Party, State and Government; central departments, ministries and branches; embassies of countries; international organisations; leaders of provinces and cities; and leaders of press agencies, together with a large number of people, businesses, and sponsors.

The Red Flamboyant Flower Festivalis an important socio-cultural and political event of the Party Committee, government, army and people of the port city which has become a typical traditional festival and the pride of Hai Phong people.

The reopening of the Hai Phong Red Flamboyant Flower Festival has contributed to diversifying and improving the quality of tourism products, creating an exciting atmosphere, and improving the quality of people’s spiritual and cultural life.

Speaking at the opening of the festival, Chairman of the City People’s Committee Nguyen Van Tung reviewed the heroic tradition of the Party Committee, army and people in the port city over the past 67 years, its orientation, as well as the determination to build and develop Hai Phong into a leading city in the whole country in the cause of industrialisation and modernisation; and the development dynamics of the Northern region and the whole country in the spirit of the Politburo’s Resolution No. 45, on the construction and development of Hai Phong city by 2030, with a vision to 2045.

An art programme with the theme “Hai Phong – the Destination of Success” features the participation of many famous artists, hundreds of actors from five art troupes have brought a wonderful experience to people and visitors.
